COLORADO COACH- WINTER 2018 FROM THE SPORT PRESIDENTS top six middle and top four elementary wrestlers in each weight will earn a free trip to the Colorado Super State Championships on March 30-31 at Denver’s National Western Complex. FOOTBALL President Harrison Chisum Coaches, Hope everyone had a great holiday break! All State will be here before we know it! The initial deadline is Friday January 19th for all state, and after that date we will start to look for alternates. Please remember a few things when we nominate players. We want to have the best represent your school and community. To be the best is also in the classroom and in the community. We need to look at the nominee as if they were playing for your team next week, meaning would they be eligible with grades or have they had a suspension not served. Thanks again for all of your time that you spent with your program this past season. I am sure most are already involved in the offseason prep for the next season. Please mark your calendars for July 28th - 29th for the CHSCA Multi Sport Clinic. Would love to see the rooms full! Again, thanks for all you do and feel free to reach out to me for any questions or concerns. Today I would like to talk about the players- the positives and the negatives. I believe that every coach has had the discussion with at least two to three players a year about roles and how they can be a part of the team. These players are what I call glue players. They do the intangibles; cheer on the bench, get the water bottles, give that little extra enthusiasm to practice, and carry the bag of balls. These are also the same players that get the key rebounds and dive on the floor to get the loose ball for that all important extra possession. They are the ones that are the best teammates and everyone likes to have on the team. Coming into this
