Colorado High School Coaches Association 2018 SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS CONGRATULATIONS TO THE 2018 RECIPIENTS! The five Colorado High School students pictured are outstanding athletes and high-achieving scholars. They each were nominated to be honored by one of their team coaches who is a member of the Colorado High School Coaches Association (CHSCA). A committee of CHSCA board members was established in 1986, each year they select the five most promising students. Each of the five students selected will receive a $1600 college scholarship from the association. To date deserving students have used over $192,000 to further their education. Santana Martinez. Coal Ridge High school Athletic Director Kirk says Santana is a leader as a student, athlete and community member. She has proven herself to be a young lady of pure character, extreme focus and dedication. Peyton Huss Sterling High School Coach Etl says Peyton is a dependable hardworking young woman who sets goal, works toward them and succeeds at reaching them. She demonstrates the qualities of a true team leader. Max Raber Air Academy High School Coach Grinde says that Max is one of the finest young men he has been around. He is an exemplary person who demonstrates the qualities of a great leader on a daily basis. Bethany Heitland Coronado High School Coach Wells says Bethany is a scholar, athlete and humanitarian. She is a natural leader and role model to the younger student athletes. She is bright, responsible, and has a tremendous work ethic. Britney Filter Weldon Valley High School Coach Wagner says she is a wonderful person to be around and is an extremely hard worker not only in the classroom, but on the volleyball, basketball, baseball and track teams.
